One-piece head jamb for exterior double doors with a sidelite on each side, mortised for both mull posts. Solid poplar construction provides unparalleled durability, stability, and ease of installation.
Built for the outdoors
- Treated hardwood, not a composite or plastic, so it cuts, nails and paints like real wood
- Treated top to bottom to resist rot and decay
- Water-resistant factory primer gives paint a smooth, even base
- Won't warp, swell or shrink like composites, and won't turn brittle in the cold like PVC
Key Specifications:
- For a pair of exterior doors 1 3/4" thick with an astragal between them and a sidelite on each side, joined by two mull posts (sold separately)
- Length: 2 x (door slab width + 1/4") + 1/2" for the astragal + 2 x (sidelite panel width + 1/8" + 1 1/2" mull post). Select the width of each door slab and the sidelite panel width.
- Comes mortised for both mull posts: 2 1/2" wide x 1/2" deep, centered on each 1 1/2" mull post (each mortise starts 3/8" short of the sidelite panel width, measured in from that end)
- Sizes up to 103 1/2" long are shown below. Need a longer head jamb or a different size? Contact us and we can cut one to order.
- Depth: Select 4 9/16", 6 9/16", or 8 9/16"
- 4 9/16" are standard depth jambs for typical (2x4) construction
- 6 9/16" are extended depth jambs for (2x6) construction
- 8 9/16" are oversize depth jambs that can be trimmed to fit thick walls (e.g., 2x8 construction, masonry walls)
- Thickness: 1 1/4" including stop (thicker section), 3/4" not including stop (thinner section)
