The framed opening, stud to stud.
Subfloor to the underside of the header.
Pick a common size or type your own (min 20", max 50"). Fractions like 35 3/4 work.
OS = oversize trimmable or full-size wood. Or type your own (min 70", max 100").
Or type your own (min 9", max 50").
Or type your own (min 10", max 40").
Set it from your pet: the flap bottom no higher than the middle of its leg, the flap top at least 1" above its shoulders. The flap runs about 1" past the cutout on each side.
Jamb depth
Match the wall thickness. For another depth, use Advanced settings.

Prehung units and kits always include standard hinge prep.

Frame
Any depth from 3 9/16" to 8 9/16". Leave blank to use the depth picked above.
Hinge placement (from top of door to top of hinge)
Standard exterior hinge is 4" x 4". Any other size is a custom hinge prep.
Standard is 3, or 4 on doors taller than 84 1/2". Any other count is a custom hinge prep. With 2 hinges the bottom hinge mirrors the top one.
Min 4", max 12" (std. exterior 6 1/2")
Lock bore placement
Strike edge of slab to center of bore. Standard is 2 3/8"; 2 3/4" on doors wider than 36"; 2" on doors narrower than 32".
The deadbolt bore follows, one bore spacing above.
Min 3", max 12" (std. 5 1/2"). The latch bore stays put; the deadbolt bore moves up.
Mull post
How far the top of the mull sits below the top of the leg jambs (std. 3/4"). All mull prep is measured from the top of the mull.
The mull sits on the threshold sill deck, this far above the bottom of the leg jambs (std. 5/8").

Cutouts
Cut sizes are what production cuts. The glass kit frame is the cut plus 1"; the glass is the cut minus 1". Measured on the finished slab.
Mull post prep
A mull post fits into a mortise in the head jamb and sits on the threshold sill deck. Its top is 3/4" below the top of the leg jambs, so every mull prep location below is that much less than the matching leg jamb measurement.

Pease interior jambs are double-rabbeted: one face for 1 3/8" doors, the other for 1 3/4".

Match the wall thickness. Interior jambs are double-rabbeted, so they come in these two depths only and can’t be ripped to another width.

Frame
Pease interior jambs are the industry-standard 11/16". 3/4" and 1 1/16" are also sometimes used.
As-built gap from the bottom of the slab to the bottom of the leg jambs. Standard is 7/8", which gives an 81 3/4" jamb on an 80" door. At install, trim the legs so the slab clears the finished floor by about 1/2" (most carpet is 1/4"–1/2"; high pile can be 3/4" or more).
Hinge placement (from top of door to top of hinge)
Standard interior hinge is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". Any other size is a custom hinge prep.
Standard is 3, or 4 on doors taller than 84 1/2". Any other count is a custom hinge prep. With 2 hinges the bottom hinge mirrors the top one.
