Description
Solid Fiberglass Sidelite Panel for a Complete Entry System
The Flush fiberglass sidelite panel features a smooth, flat surface that creates a clean and simple appearance alongside your entry door. Built with the same fiberglass construction as our entry doors for a consistent look and feel across your entryway. This sidelite panel features a Fine Grain Woodgrain (tan) surface texture with a refined, understated grain designed for staining or painting. A great option for assembling a new door system with sidelites or for replacing an existing sidelite panel.
Flush Sidelite Panel Design
Flush sidelite panels feature a completely smooth, flat surface with no embossed panels or decorative profiles. This clean, uninterrupted surface creates a sleek, modern appearance that pairs naturally with flush glazed entry doors and contemporary door styles where minimal detailing is preferred.
Flush sidelite panels are available with or without glass cutouts depending on the selected configuration. When ordered with glass, the cutout is integrated directly into the flat surface, maintaining the streamlined look of the panel. When ordered without glass, the panel provides a solid, uniform surface that can be used as a design element alongside the entry door.
Key Measurements
Key Measurements & Sizing Information
This sidelite is sold as a nominal 14" x 80" size, which is also commonly written as 1/2 x 6/8. The actual sidelite slab size is 13-7/8" wide x 79" tall, with a standard exterior thickness of 1-3/4". Sidelites are typically installed alongside a door slab of the same height to create a wider entry system.
If purchasing with jambs to assemble a door and sidelite unit: this sidelite typically pairs with 81-3/4" leg jambs for inswing thresholds and saddle-style outswing thresholds. For bumper-style outswing thresholds, the matching leg jambs are 80-3/4". When assembled with a door slab of the same height, the sidelite and door share the same overall unit height.
If replacing an existing sidelite panel: a 79" sidelite height is the most common size and is often compatible with existing frames even when the original panel measures 79-1/8" or 79-1/4" tall. If your existing sidelite measures taller than 79-1/4", we also offer select oversize trimmable sidelites designed to accommodate slightly larger openings.
Construction & Materials
Fiberglass Sidelite Panel Construction: Built to Match Your Entry Door
Our fiberglass sidelite panels are built using the same core materials and construction methods as our fiberglass entry doors, ensuring a consistent look, feel, and performance when paired together. The fiberglass skins resist warping, rotting, denting, and rusting, while a polyurethane foam core (2.2 lbs/cu.ft density) provides insulation and structural rigidity.
LVL (laminated veneer lumber) side stiles with composite PVC caps provide internal structural support, and composite top and bottom rails help resist moisture intrusion and long-term deterioration. The result is a sidelite panel that maintains its shape, appearance, and performance alongside your entry door for years to come.
Designed to Pair with Pease Fiberglass Entry Doors
Sidelite panels are designed to be installed adjacent to a compatible entry door as part of a complete entryway system. When paired with matching Pease fiberglass entry doors, the sidelite panels share the same skin textures, embossment profiles, and 1-3/4" thickness for a cohesive, unified appearance across the full entry opening.
Sidelite panels do not include hinge or lock preparation and are not designed to swing or operate independently. They are fixed panels intended to add natural light and architectural detail to your entryway.
Finishing
Surface Texture and Recommended Finish for Woodgrain Fiberglass Doors
This door features a Fine Grain Woodgrain (tan) surface with an embossed texture that creates a refined, understated wood-like appearance. The closely spaced, subtle grain lines enhance the clean aesthetics of contemporary and modern home styles. The Fine Grain pattern is not species-specific, allowing it to accept a wide range of stain colors to echo the look of various wood species and match existing trim, cabinetry, or architectural elements around your home. The finer texture produces a softer, more subdued stained appearance, making it a popular choice for homeowners who want a hint of natural wood character without a pronounced grain pattern.
Woodgrain fiberglass doors are typically finished using a gel stain or an opaque, heavily pigmented oil-based stain suitable for fiberglass or other non-porous surfaces. These stain types remain on the surface rather than soaking into the material, allowing the molded woodgrain texture to show through while creating a rich, even color. Traditional penetrating wood stains are not recommended for fiberglass doors, as they are designed to absorb into wood fibers rather than bond to fiberglass surfaces.
After staining, apply a polyurethane top-coat with UV inhibitor to seal and protect the finish. This protective topcoat is essential for preventing fading, moisture intrusion, and weather-related damage while enhancing the depth and appearance of the woodgrain texture.
Woodgrain fiberglass doors may also be painted if a solid color finish is desired. When painting a woodgrain surface, always apply a bonding primer such as Sherwin-Williams Extreme Bond Primer before painting to ensure proper adhesion and long-term finish performance. All six sides of the door must be finished, including the front, back, top, bottom, and both edges, to properly protect the door and maintain warranty coverage.
Fiberglass doors are shipped unfinished or factory-primed depending on selected options. Finishing should be completed promptly after delivery and before prolonged exposure to weather.
Installation
Installation Readiness for Fiberglass Sidelite Panels
Fiberglass sidelite panels can be used in two ways: as a component when assembling a new door system with sidelite framing, or as a replacement panel for an existing sidelite opening where the surrounding frame is still in good condition. Before installation, verify that the panel dimensions (width, height, and thickness) match the framing or jamb set for new assemblies, or the existing opening for replacements. Our sidelite panels are compatible with most major entry door brands including Stanley, Taylor, Mastercraft, Perma Door, Castlegate, Masonite, Therma-Tru, Jeld-Wen, Plastpro, and many others.
Sidelite panels are fixed in place within the frame using stop trim (stop beads or stop molding) that secures the panel on the interior side of the opening. When replacing an existing panel, carefully remove the interior stop trim to release the old panel, then set the new panel into the opening against the exterior trim, apply a continuous bead of caulk around all four sides, and reinstall the stop trim to hold the panel securely in place.
When installing sidelite panels alongside a threshold, a sidelite adapter (also known as a seat, spacer, or riser) may be needed to bridge the gap between the threshold and the bottom of the sidelite panel. The adapter replaces the threshold rail in the sidelite section and provides a stable, sealed base for the panel to rest on. In general, the adapter should be approximately 1/8" wider than the panel width for proper fit and sealing.
Minor trimming of fiberglass sidelite panels may be possible depending on the panel construction, but allowable trimming limits should always be verified before cutting. Excessive trimming may affect performance or warranty coverage. Handle sidelite panels with care during installation to prevent damage to corners, edges, or glass components, and avoid placing pressure directly on glass areas.
Complete all recommended finishing steps promptly after installation to protect the panel surface and maintain long-term performance.

Fast shipping, great priced. The only con would be that one of the sid-lites had a small dent with paint chip on one of the corners. Did not really care because it was hidden by trim. Would give 5 starts if not for that. Still need to paint the door but overall it's a drastic transformation and lets in so much light. Love it!
Installation was a breeze. It fit perfectly. The old one had a broken seal sonit was very cloudy. I can't believe how much nicer my front door looks now. I am so glad we found your company.
Customer service was phenomenal. I called and did not leave a message but they called me back and apologized for not answering. I told him everything I was looking for the instantly solved my problem. I had side lights that no longer were available. They were two different companies. They combined both my orders and installed the windows in the framing and shipped them to me.
Great customer service. Shipping was fast. Installation was straightforward. Had Pease assemble the glass in the side panel so after cutting the excess off panel end it fit perfectly. Low E glass work’s beautifully. This was a huge upgrade over original side panel doors. With these panels can replace glass where the originals were all fused together with the glass. Very satisfied.
Really appreciated the friendly customer service, quick delivery and the quality of the product was better than expected. Took longer to take the old one out and prepare the area for the new sidelite than it did installing this one.
The panel was exactly what i had been looking for for over a year to replace my damaged one. The shipping was a issue but once i reached out to customer service they made sure i got it. I couldn’t be happier
I was nervous to order something online however I’ve shared your company information with my contractor who was impressed with the quality of the door and side lights
Jamb width on the prehung sidelight unit should be exactly 4-1/2", yet the actual width is 4-9/16" - 1/16" wider than it should be, and 1/16" wider than the jamb of the adjacent door. Why? Now I have to figure out how to join and blend the two so that they appear seamless.
Fyi they do not come with glass. I thought they were the full sidelights with glass for the price you pay. It is kind of ridiculous that they don't come complete
I had French doors installed in my new addition but needed more window area. I ordered panes and panels to go alongside the French doors. They are fabulous
Good product. I wish the description had been more clear that it did not include the glass. This caused me quite the delay in getting my project completed.
