With Pease, custom doesn’t just mean “designable.” It means designable, buildable, and orderable — all online, all at once.

How It Works: Step-by-Step

Building your door is simple, fast, and visual. Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit the Configurator Page
Start at peasedoors.com/configurator to begin your custom design.

  2. Choose Your Viewing Environment
See your door in context — view it outside your home, inside your entryway, or as a 3D standalone model. You can even adjust your home’s exterior color for a realistic preview.

  3. Select Your Swing and Framing
Choose your jamb depth (see our measuring guide below) and your door swing — right-hand, left-hand, inswing, or outswing. On-screen visuals make this step effortless.

  4. Pick Your Door Slab
Select your height, width, material, and panel design. Clear illustrations help you visualize proportions and details.

  5. Add Glass Style and Frame
Choose from dozens of glass designs to let in light and reflect your home’s character. Then select your glass frame style — Standard or Flat.

  6. Customize Hinges, Threshold, and Hardware
Match finishes and locksets to your aesthetic. These finishing touches complete your entry with precision.

  7. Select Paint and Jamb Finishes
Explore our curated color options and find the perfect combination for your door and frame.

  8. Choose Pre-Hung or Knocked-Down Delivery
Prefer a ready-to-install setup? Select pre-hung for convenience. Or choose knocked down if you’re assembling on-site.

Once finished, you’ll have a clear, accurate visualization of your finished door before you place your order.

How to Measure for Your Perfect Fit

Accurate measurements ensure your new door fits perfectly. Here’s how to do it right:

1. Measure Your Door Slab

Open your existing door and measure the height and width, excluding the rubber door sweep.

2. Measure Your Jamb Depth

Open your door so you can see the full edge of the jamb.
Measure from the inside wall surface (drywall) to the outer edge that meets your exterior trim or siding. Do not include any extra layers of trim or casing — just the jamb itself.

Common sizes include 4-9/16" or 6-9/16", depending on wall thickness.

💡 Tip: If you have brick or thick siding, measure only the jamb — not the surrounding material.

If you need help measuring any of the above, our door experts are available via call, email, and text to help guide you!

Choosing Your Glass Style

When you design & order your custom door with the Pease Door Configurator, selecting the right glass style is one of the most important choices you’ll make. Glass affects light, privacy, curb appeal, and overall character — and the Configurator lets you preview every style in real time so you can design with confidence before you place your order.

Below are the three primary glass categories, along with the unique advantages each offers

Decorative Glass

Decorative glass is ideal for homeowners who want their entry door to make a statement. This style features intricate patterns, beveling, caming, and textured elements that add dimension and craftsmanship to your door.

Decorative Door Glass

Advantages:

  • Creates an elevated, high-end appearance

  • Adds depth and visual interest from inside and outside

  • Enhances curb appeal without sacrificing natural light

  • Enables personalized styling through pattern, shape, and caming finishes

Best Fit For:

Traditional, Craftsman, Colonial, and Transitional homes — or any entryway where you want refined detail and strong character.

Privacy Glass

Privacy glass uses textured, frosted, or patterned surfaces to obscure visibility while still allowing generous light into your home.

Decorative Door Glass

Advantages:

  • Provides daytime and nighttime privacy from neighbors, sidewalks, or roads

  • Softens incoming light for a more diffused interior glow

  • Maintains security while enhancing architectural style

  • Offers a clean, modern look without feeling closed off.

Best Fit For:

Modern, Contemporary, Mid-Century, and Cottage homes — especially where privacy and natural light both matter.

Clear Glass

Clear glass offers the most transparency and the brightest feel of any option. It frames outdoor views and creates a seamless, open connection between your interior and exterior spaces.

Decorative Door Glass - Clear

Advantages:

  • Maximizes natural light

  • Delivers a crisp, modern, unobstructed look

  • Great for showcasing exterior landscaping and architectural lines

  • Works with the widest range of panel styles and door materials

Best Fit For:

Modern Farmhouse, Coastal, Contemporary, and open-concept homes — or any entryway where brightness and openness are top priorities.
