Description

Single 97" compression strip offered in white and bronze.

High reach weatherstrip is a serious upgrade for doors that need a tighter seal against the elements and pests. A great option if you can see daylight around your door from inside the home or if you can feel a draft, for example on older doors that have settled slightly out of alignment or in cold climates where stripping shrinks over time and the wind blows cold air at the door with force.
    Specifications & Fit
    • Seals standard to larger gaps -- about 1/4" to 1/2" from door exterior face to jamb kerf or slot (about double the reach of standard weatherstrip)
    • Made out of thermoplastic rubber (TPE) that maintains flexibility in extreme cold and resists tearing
    • Available in clean white, bronze (neutral brown color), and beige
    • Note that the white color can be translucent in direct sunlight, so we do not recommend white for doors that face the sun because even though the stripping seals the door, it can appear that the door has gaps and light may shine through
    • 97" Length and can be easily trimmed with scissors to work with shorter doors
    • Great replacement for 7 foot (84") and 8 foot (96") tall doors because you can use a single continuous strip instead of splicing shorter pieces together
    • Fits door jambs with standard 1/8" kerf or slot
    • Please make sure that you have WOOD JAMBS. Steel jambs often have a wider kerf so check to ensure you have a 1/8" kerf

    I shouldn’t say I dislike the product; it would be more accurate to state that it is the wrong product for my needs. The kerf depth for my doorstop is just 3/16” of an inch. The product I ordered is closer to 3/8” of an inch in depth. I would like to return this product, unused, and replace it with a bulb type weatherstripping with a 3/16” kerf depth.     Piece fit well. Description and dimensions were accurate. Was concerned about deformations in the seal due to the piece being kinked to fit in the shipping box, but after a few days the silicone straightened out nicely.

    Our 8 foot wooden front french doors seemed to have a slight curve near the top, creating a gap with a good draft and some daylight above the deadbolt. This was able to fill the gap up top but also compress enough to use below the deadbolt. Solved our issue!!

    This strip didn't work out for us. We have a custom 5'x8' front door with metal framing. This weather strip was too stiff to conform to the variations in flatness around the door frame, resulting in air/light gaps around the frame.

The High Reach weatherstripping is intended to fill gaps (from edge of jamb to beginning of door) 1/4"-1/2". If you have a larger gap I would recommend our mega reach weatherstripping which fills gaps 1/2"-3/4".     I ordered thick weather stripping to seal 1/2 " to1" and the stripping that was sent will not cover a 16th

    I purchased these seals thinking that they would be of high quality. I would suggest that they are not high quality. The material is extremely flexible and will not hold the structure there. I'm not able to seal. I would say that they are not as good as the cheapest ones you get at home depot.

    Therma Tru no longer makes door seals for their older doors. Mine is 27 years old and they said they could not help me. So thank you for having quality material something that actually fits like it belongs.
