Description

Set of three 97" compression strips - everything you need to completely replace your old weatherstrip. Available in white and bronze.

High reach weatherstrip is a serious upgrade for doors that need a tighter seal against the elements and pests. A great option if you can see daylight around your door from inside the home or if you can feel a draft, for example on older doors that have settled slightly out of alignment or in cold climates where stripping shrinks over time and the wind blows cold air at the door with force.
    Specifications & Fit
    • Seals standard to larger gaps -- about 1/4" to 1/2" from door exterior face to jamb kerf or slot (about double the reach of standard weatherstrip)
    • Made out of thermoplastic rubber (TPE) that maintains flexibility in extreme cold and resists tearing
    • Available in clean white and bronze (neutral brown color)
    • Note that the white color can be translucent in direct sunlight, so we do not recommend white for doors that face the sun because even though the stripping seals the door, it can appear that the door has gaps and light may shine through
    • 97" Length can be easily trimmed with scissors to work with shorter doors
    • Great replacement for 7 foot (84") and 8 foot (96") tall doors because you can use a single continuous strip instead of splicing shorter pieces together
    • Fits door jambs with standard 1/8" kerf or slot
    • Please make sure that you have WOOD JAMBS. Steel jambs often have a wider kerf so check to ensure you have a 1/8" kerf
Great Replacement for Many Door Brands

Customer video review of 97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip (1 piece)

It was described as a weatherstrip that could cover gaps from 1/4-1/2 inches. This is a 5/16-inch gap, so well below a 1/2 inch, but you can see from the video it doesn't get anywhere close to filling it. In fact, it's worse than my existing weatherstrip.

Customer photo review of 97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip (1 piece)

I shouldn’t say I dislike the product; it would be more accurate to state that it is the wrong product for my needs. The kerf depth for my doorstop is just 3/16” of an inch. The product I ordered is closer to 3/8” of an inch in depth. I would like to return this product, unused, and replace it with a bulb type weatherstripping with a 3/16” kerf depth. Can you help me arrange this exchange? Thank you so much, Tom Sacher.

Material was very flimsy and did not create a good seal on my door.

Store owner replied: Hi Lester, it looks like the gap is too big on your door for the size weatherstripping that you ordered! You can return it for a refund here if you like: https://peasedoors.com/apps/returns

Piece fit well. Description and dimensions were accurate. Was concerned about deformations in the seal due to the piece being kinked to fit in the shipping box, but after a few days the silicone straightened out nicely.

Our 8 foot wooden front french doors seemed to have a slight curve near the top, creating a gap with a good draft and some daylight above the deadbolt. This was able to fill the gap up top but also compress enough to use below the deadbolt. Solved our issue!!

We have extra high doors with age old kerf weatherstripping. We looked everywhere else with no luck for the same product in a compatible length and are so glad we found Pease. Both the product and customer service are great!

97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip Set (3 pieces)

This was a high priced weatherstripping which I went for because the dimensions are what I need for the” kerf in” door I needed it for. I haven’t used it yet because though the package in came though marked fragile had no center spool to wrap it around to retain its shape. So it was packaged by folding it in to get it in the box. This resulted in all kinds of kinks and flat spots in this expensive product. Now I have to wait until I get a sunny day to leave it out so hopefully it will regain its original shape. I rate this as zero care in your product. It also took quite a while to get it as well. Not a fan

Product fit well. Didn’t like how it was shipped. Product had multiple bend creases causing appearance of product to be sub par in appearance. Looked cheaply made

Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear the product fit well, but we’re sorry it arrived with multiple bend creases that affected its appearance. We understand how frustrating it is when the product functions properly but doesn’t look the way you expected once installed. We appreciate you bringing the shipping and packaging concerns to our attention. We’ll share your feedback with our team as we continue evaluating how this product is packaged and shipped to help prevent creasing and improve the overall presentation.

This strip didn't work out for us. We have a custom 5'x8' front door with metal framing. This weather strip was too stiff to conform to the variations in flatness around the door frame, resulting in air/light gaps around the frame.

97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip Set (3 pieces)

Store owner replied: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear this weatherstripping wasn’t a good fit for your custom door. With a large 5' x 8' door and metal framing, variations in the frame can make a rigid weatherstrip difficult to conform to the opening, which can unfortunately result in gaps. We appreciate you providing those details, as they’re helpful for us in understanding where this product may not be the best application. We’ll be sure to pass your feedback along to our team for consideration as we continue evaluating our weatherstripping options.

The white weather strip is translucent and kinked into a box for shipping the kinks stopmkt from walking properly, waste of money

97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip Set (3 pieces)

Store owner replied: Hi Wade, We are sorry to hear that our product didn't work out for you. The High Reach weatherstripping is intended to fill gaps (from edge of jamb to beginning of door) 1/4"-1/2". If you have a larger gap I would recommend our mega reach weatherstripping which fills gaps 1/2"-3/4". Please feel free to reach out to our team and we would be happy to assist you - The Pease Doors Team

I ordered thick weather stripping to seal 1/2 " to1" and the stripping that was sent will not cover a 16th

I purchased these seals thinking that they would be of high quality. I would suggest that they are not high quality. The material is extremely flexible and will not hold the structure there. I'm not able to seal. I would say that they are not as good as the cheapest ones you get at home depot.

97" Extra Long High Reach Compression Weatherstrip Set (3 pieces)

Store owner replied: Hello Ryan, Thank you for sharing your feedback, we’re genuinely sorry to hear that the seals didn’t meet your expectations. Our weatherstripping and seals are designed to be flexible by design, which allows them to create a consistent compression seal once properly installed and fitted to the door and frame. That flexibility is what enables them to adapt to minor variations in tolerances and maintain contact over time. That said, if the product isn’t performing as expected in your application, that’s something we take seriously. We want to make this right and ensure you’re getting a solution that actually works for your setup. Please reach out to us directly at info@peasedoors.com with your order number and a brief description (or photos) of the installation. Our team will review it and help troubleshoot fitment, compression, and compatibility, or offer a resolution if the product isn’t the right match for your door system. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and giving us the opportunity to improve your experience. – The Pease Doors Team

The replacement weather strip that you so kindly shipped did solve the issue with the original item from the three piece magnetic weatherstrip failing to make contact on the hinge side of the door. Thanks!
