How we estimate

Most in-stock items that need no shop work leave our warehouse the same or next business day. Ordering by 12 pm Eastern, Monday to Friday, gives yours the best chance of shipping the same day.

Shop work starts once everything is in stock: trimming, cutting or prep takes 1 business day, finishing (priming, painting or staining) 1 to 3, and assembly, such as a prehung door system, 2 to 5. Out-of-stock items without a restock date usually ship in about 2 weeks, plus any shop work.

Ground parcels take 2 to 4 business days. Doors, sidelites and other large items go by freight: Priority Freight takes 2 to 5 business days and economy freight 7 to 15; you choose at checkout. Weekends and carrier holidays aren't counted. These are estimates, not guarantees.

    Premium Door, Direct Pricing

The entire wood sourcing, kiln-drying, manufacturing and finishing process is completed in South America, which allows us to keep the cost low and hand craft the doors.

Door is built with authentic stile and rail construction. Traditional dowel construction creates tight, solid joints.

We offer these doors direct, which saves you the traditional markups applied by distributors and lumberyards/door companies.

    More About Mahogany

Mahogany is the best ultra-premium wood for exterior doors:

    - Extremely dense and sturdy, for maximum sound insulation and ability to handle normal wear & tear with ease and last for decades

    - Easily stained (takes stains very well) to bring out beautiful natural grain of the wood

    - Extremely stable wood holds it size and shape (prevents warping which can cause doors to get "stuck")

    Additional Specifications

    - Mill finish threshold & satin nickel finish hinges

    - Lock prep: Comes with standard tubular lock prep for 2 3/8" backset lock. This means the door will have two 2.125" holes 5.5" apart. Lockset not included (browse out selectionhere, we recommend this one)

    - Kiln dried shrink resistant panels to ensure maximum stability (limits wood expansion/contraction/warping)

    - Stile & rail construction with true jointed panels for a premium look and feel

    - Includes brickmould (exterior trim)

    - Jambs are built of the same top-grade mahogany used for the door

    Installation & Maintenance

    1. Place in rough opening

    2. Shim until the door is straight in the opening and operates smoothly

    3. Secure into rough opening with screws (sold separately, we recommend these)

    4. Install lockset (sold separately, we recommend this one)

    5. We recommend refinishing the door every 1-4 years, depending on exposure to sun and the elements

    Questions buyers ask

    Will a 35-3/4" x 79" slab fit my 36" x 80" door frame?

Yes. 36" x 80" is what the door is called; the slab itself measures 35-3/4" x 79", which leaves the gaps a door needs to swing and seal. Measure your old slab to be sure, or send us your measurements and we confirm the fit before we build.

Slab only or complete door system: which do I need?

A slab is just the door, for a frame that is square and in good shape. A complete door system is the door hung in a new frame with the threshold, hinges and weatherstrip: choose it if the frame is rotted or out of square, or if you are changing the opening. The Door System Calculator turns a rough opening into the right size.

Which way does my door open?

Stand inside the home, facing the door. If it swings toward you it is an inswing door, and the knob side names the hand: knob on your left is left hand inswing. For an outswing door, use the hinge side instead.

Can I add my own glass later?

Choose a cut-out option and we cut the opening in our shop for the matching glass kit. Glass kits are listed by the outside size of their plastic frame, which is 1" larger than the cut-out (a 23" x 37" cut takes a 24" x 38" kit), and a shaped cut (round top, arch or oval) needs a kit of the same shape.

    When will it ship?

In-stock items that need no shop work ship the same or next business day. Shop work starts once everything is in stock: 1 business day for prep, 1 to 3 for finishing, and 2 to 5 to assemble a complete door system. Doors go by freight: Priority Freight takes 2 to 5 business days, economy freight 7 to 15; you choose at checkout. The estimate under the price updates for the size and options you pick.
