High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)
Material & Painting/Staining (detailed painting instructions included in box):
Small and Medium size oval frames are made of a high quality polycarbonate and ABS plastic blend (PC/ABS). These are "High Heat" frames that are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Frames can be painted or stained without a primer. They can also be left white unfinished and are "maintenance free" meaning they won't crack or discolor even without paint or stain.
Large oval frames are made of a high grade polypropylene and are also maintenance free, so they do not require paint. They are a big upgrade from the traditional polystyene frames and can handle all but the most extreme of heat conditions. If you do choose to paint or stain these frames, you will need a special adhesion promoting primer, which can be found in our paint section, alongside a curated selection of great paint colors that are specially formulated for doors & door glass frames.
This window and frame are great! It came damaged but a new one was sent out and received within just a few days. It installed in minutes and we are very pleased! It looks a million times better. So thankful to have found this! Thank you!!
Finally got a product that wasn’t damaged in shipping on the third try. It was made right in the end. The packing was definitely secure on the third shipment but I feel it should have been that way the first time it might have not been damaged and taken 4 weeks to get a good one. The quality is lacking a little and I feel a little overpriced and all the trouble is the reason for 4 stars
The outside hoop had cracked and separated and that allowed the glass to drop down about 1-1/2”. Very easy to replace and I was able to reuse the inside hoop that had a wood grain stain on it.
Glad I found your company
Chuck
The large oval door trim kit was for an old er door where the window was replaced with a stained glass that this fine lady’s deceased husband made before he died. The existing trim had multiple cracks and no longer would hold the glass. We replaced the trim kit and the stained glass is now secured. Her reaction was sheer joy, gratitude full of tears. It was a pleasure working with Pease doors. Thank you.
Still haven’t received the frame kit for the third time. I wonder if this one is damaged. Maybe the third on will not be damaged and in good shape we’ll see

Hi John,
We’re really sorry for the repeated issues you've experienced—this is absolutely not the standard we aim for. We understand how frustrating it is to be waiting on something multiple times, especially when damage is involved.
Our team has shipped out your third frame kit with extra packaging precautions, and we’re closely monitoring the delivery. If there are any issues upon arrival, please reach out to us right away at info@peasedoors.com so we can make it right. We truly appreciate your patience and are committed to getting this resolved for you.
Unfortunately it was too small the width did not fit correctly
Store owner replied:
Hello Allen Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear that the product didn’t fit as expected. When it comes to oval shapes, the measurements do need to be precise to ensure the proper fit. If you’re open to it, one option would be to cut a rectangle in your door, which would allow you to install a more standard door glass. This can provide more flexibility in terms of size and options. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need guidance on how to proceed. We’re here to help! - Charlie
Part fit as needed… came super fast excellent customer service
The window frame had to be returned because of incorrect information on your website. The frame I returned was within the specs that you had posted for that size window (see account #35846).
My true disappointment came when I realized that I was going to be charged shipping, $78, both directions because of your mistake. Furthermore I noticed that you still haven’t updated the information on your website.
Store owner replied:
Hi Glenn, sorry to hear that!! We will of course refund your shipping charges, and we will update our specifications to reflect this frame will not fit your size glass.
The frame kit arrived in excellent condition. My husband thought it would be about an hour job but turned
into a three days. Everything looked good until we tried fitting the frame into place. The inside of the oval is bigger than the oval hole in the door. Too late to put the old one back since it was cracked. My husband had to cut and measure the inside hole which took half the day to make sure it was straight. Finally got that squared away and painted everything. When we went to snap everything into place, there was a big gap between the glass and the frame. More swearing and figuring out what to do to fix it trying to save the door because I really like the etched glass which is not sold anywhere I searched that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Everything has camming . Thank God my husband is handy and between the both of us, we made it work . It would have been helpful if there was a year that this frame was made to fit the door since my door is over 25 years old.
Oval ring was approximately 1/2 inch too wide and 1/4 inch too tall to fit my existing door. Having a metal and insulated door, trimming was not a good option. Had I had a wooden door, I could have possibly made it fit.
The ring itself was of good quality.
This is the 3rd order with Pease doors and they are a great company to deal with. Received the wrong frame and they made it right immediately and a few days later received the correct frame. Very happy with Pease!
Item seems well made but does not fit my odd sized window. Pease will authorize returns but doesn't issue return address labels which means you'll have to pay return shipping yourself. The cost of returning my item was 300 to 400 dollars at UPS, USPS, and Fedex, which means its not actually returnable. Know this when you but from Pease; you're item is functionally non-returnable.
Store owner replied:
Hi Reid,
Yes the oval sizes are tricky! It is really important to measure the glass directly and confirm it matches the size exactly. And yes it is a large package so shipping can be expensive (but not sure why you are getting such a high rate quote -- are you using the original packaging?)
Best,
David
This part is the ONLY direct replacement made for this door design. The replacement did not fit in the original "factory-built" door. The overall dimensions are over a half inch bigger than original. Pease Customer Service dept informed me that a design change had been implemented.
Apparently this change is not compatible with the original design. I was told to "modify" the original door to fit the new replacement part.
Adding insult to injury, the cost is ridiculous at almost $200 after S&H.
Store owner replied:
Hi Ernest,
Sorry to hear it didn't fit! Ovals can be tricky, and the glass sized changed many times over the years. We offer the three most common oval sizes. You do have to check and make sure that size lines up -- even half an inch outside the range can mean that the door would require modification for this frame to fit.
Best,
David
The oval trims were hitting edges and to tight in some areas. Therefore I had cut notches in these spots which was arduous because it was an older metal/foam door.
