Description

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Classic 8 lite style with external grids or dividers.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Measurements:

Style: Full Lite (rectangular)

  • Frame outside dimensions: 24" x 66" (replaces frames 23 1/2" to 24" wide and 65 1/2" to 66" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 23" x 65"
  • Glass dimensions: 1/2" thick, 22" wide, 64" tall
Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation
Insulated Safety Glass (Low-E Optional)

Double pane insulated glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

Also available in Low-E tempered glass, which we recommend for applications where energy efficiency is needed, for example in areas with cold winters/hot summers (especially if the door receives direct sunlight).
High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Kit includes standard white high performance plastic frames that resist cracking, warping, and discoloring due to heat and sunlight. These are "High Heat" frames rated up to 200°F and are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Standard white frames are ready to install and do not need to be painted, but can be painted or stained after lightly sanding and priming. More on finishing door glass frames
Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

Installation was easy. My door is a 36 x 96 so taller than the average door so a full lite insert gave it the 3/4 look. My cutout had to be 24 inches wide so I just used some 1/2 inch plywood to get it back to 23 inches wide cutout for the frame size. I got the clear glass and frosted it myself. Very happy with the purchase.

We have a taller than standard door. I believe it’s 96”. We wanted a 3/4 lite insert but couldn’t find one in the style preferred. The full lite for the standard size door worked perfectly as a 3/4 lite for the taller door. Very happy with the results.

In the end …STILL GLAD I did it!! I absolutely LOVE how much light this insert brings into a once very dark, and closed off hallway. It completely transforms our entryway. The old door was “ok”, but very dated. We have gotten so many compliments on this very INEXPENSIVE update, $300 vs $3000 to replace. Now onto the only reason I had to give 4 stars … First, I’m extremely handy …like, I built my addition handy …this should’ve been straight forward. The measurements aren’t quite accurate point to point as advertised…and DO NOT follow the video on the website. You cannot assume your panels are the exact size you need. Glad I didn’t! I ordered assuming my insert would just cover the top cutout portion of the half circle and cover just to the bottom of the lower panels. Well, due to the inaccuracy and shortage, I had to move the insert upwards to cover the “hole”, leaving the bottom of the panels showing slightly. No one would notice but me. I wish they provided and actual cut out template …but they don’t. So just be careful on your measurements. But the product itself is AMAZING and gets the job done!! Measure measure measure.

This is the third glass insert we have ordered, 1 came with the lite panels broken but this one wasn't damaged as the others were. I don't know if a different person was responsible for packaging this last one but if so, you need to have that person package them all so they do not get damaged Would same you same replacement cost and the customer a lot of frustration Hope someone reads this and considers what I said.

When the glass arrived one of the sets of lites was broken and it appeared due to the carrier damaging the packaging, I provided pictures. You sent me a new set of lites for the damaged one and it had some of the "packing tips, as I was told by your people, were broken" not the packaging. I would recommend that whomever is responsible for your packaging analyze their process. The glass and lites(frames) fit very well and we like them.

Love the door! But…. We painted it black and wished we would have known to paint the whole frame first before putting in door. We had to take it apart after we had already painted it because you could see the white inside if it.
