Shop work starts once everything is in stock: trimming, cutting or prep takes 1 business day, finishing (priming, painting or staining) 1 to 3, and assembly, such as a prehung door system, 2 to 5. Out-of-stock items without a restock date usually ship in about 2 weeks, plus any shop work.

Ground parcels take 2 to 4 business days. Doors, sidelites and other large items go by freight: Priority Freight takes 2 to 5 business days and economy freight 7 to 15; you choose at checkout. Weekends and carrier holidays aren't counted. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Classic clear glass 9 lite style with external grids.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Standard Size:

  • Frame outside dimensions: 24" x 38" (replaces frames 23 1/2" to 24" wide and 37 1/2" to 38" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 23" x 37"
  • Glass dimensions: 1/2" thick, 22" wide, 36" tall

Narrow Size:

  • This size is typically found on narrow (30" and narrower) doors
  • Frame outside dimensions: 22" x 38" (replaces frames 21 1/2" to 22" wide and 37 1/2" to 38" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 21" x 37"
  • Glass dimensions: 1/2" thick, 20" wide, 36" tall

Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation

Insulated Safety Glass (Low-E Optional)

Double pane insulated glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

Also available in Low-E tempered glass, which we recommend for applications where energy efficiency is needed, for example in areas with cold winters/hot summers (especially if the door receives direct sunlight).

High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Kit includes standard white high performance plastic frames that resist cracking, warping, and discoloring due to heat and sunlight. These are "High Heat" frames rated up to 200°F and are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Standard white frames are ready to install and do not need to be painted, but can be painted or stained after lightly sanding and priming. More on finishing door glass frames

Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

Installation steps

1. Remove screw caps to expose screws (should be on the inside of the home, if installed properly). If the caps are painted over and difficult to remove, try a small flathead screwdriver and mallet/hammer to cut or knock them free.

2. Use a utility knife to score around the interior and exterior door glass frames to cut through any existing paint

3. With a friend outside holding the glass firmly into the door, remove screws. If screws strip out, try a stripped screw tool or you can use a drill to drill out the screws

4. Remove interior frame

5. Remove exterior frame and glass unit

6. Clean the opening

7. Place the new glass unit & exterior frame assembly into the cut-out opening. The exterior frame does not have screw holes and typically comes pre-caulked to the insulated glass unit. Install this assembly from the outside of the home.

8. While a friend holds the exterior frame and glass unit into the door from outside of the home, attach the interior frame (the one with screw-holes). WARNING: FOR LARGE GLASS UNITS AND UNITS WITH NEW SEMI-STICKY CAULKING WE RECOMMEND REMOVING DOOR FROM HINGES AND INSTALLING BY LAYING DOOR ON TOP OF GLASS AND EXTERIOR FRAME ASSEMBLY. IF INSTALLING IN UPRIGHT DOOR, MAKE SURE TO HAVE TWO HELPERS, ONE TO INSERT GLASS AND FRAME FROM EXTERIOR OF HOME AND ONE TO HOLD THE GLASS FROM THE INSIDE OF HOME WHILE THE THIRD PERSON ATTACHES THE INTERIOR FRAME AND SCREWS EVERYTHING TOGHTER.

9. Fasten screws tightly (set power drills to low torque setting, do not exceed 15 in-lbs of torque)

10. Cover screws with provided screw caps (if no caps are available, you can also use white putty and smooth over with your thumb, then add wood grooves with a fingernail)

The replacement clear 9 lite glass and frame kit was used to replace a frame that had a built in blind. The blind was damaged in the existing fiberglass door frame kit. Got quoted 4700 for a replacement painted green door. It is a non trading size in an older home and I just could not justify it. Doing some research online I came across Pease doors and I gotta tell ya, cant beat it. The doors over 40 yrs old and didn't think anything would be readily available but the replacement window fit perfect. The directions are easier than they say and as long as you know how to measure the window replacement will fit. I did some average dent repairs and paint and the window just set it over the top. Worth every penny and more will be ordered in the future! Thank you!

2 guide posts and 1 screw receptacle were discovered broken off when unit was removed from shipping box. Box was not damaged. It appears this occurred during the packing process. The material chosen for the frame is extremely under-engineered for the weight of the glass. I've installed the window and will use as is.

Needed to replace a scratched up door glass in a clients back door. The trim was broken and cracked in several places as well. This kit that I purchased with the Low-E glass was just the ticket! Very easy to put in. I had the old one out and the new one set in under 30 minutes. The hardest part for me was getting the screw covers in the holes! Probably because of my stubby fingers. Seems like a very high quality product and the homeowner loves that her door looks brand new again.

My project involved cutting an opening in an exterior metal door. Rented a circular saw from Home Depot, but had to provide my own metal cutting blade. Had to measure on the front and on the back, and fortunately it all lined up after I was done. Care in measuring is so critical. After the cutting, it was a piece of cake to complete.
