How we estimate

Most in-stock items that need no shop work leave our warehouse the same or next business day. Ordering by 12 pm Eastern, Monday to Friday, gives yours the best chance of shipping the same day.

Shop work starts once everything is in stock: trimming, cutting or prep takes 1 business day, finishing (priming, painting or staining) 1 to 3, and assembly, such as a prehung door system, 2 to 5. Out-of-stock items without a restock date usually ship in about 2 weeks, plus any shop work.

Ground parcels take 2 to 4 business days. Doors, sidelites and other large items go by freight: Priority Freight takes 2 to 5 business days and economy freight 7 to 15; you choose at checkout. Weekends and carrier holidays aren't counted. These are estimates, not guarantees.

Provincial gel stain for fiberglass and wood doors. Old Masters® Gel Stain is a highly pigmented, oil-based gel made to color non-porous surfaces like fiberglass door skins, where ordinary penetrating stains won't take. The thick formula stays put on vertical surfaces and gives rich, even color, usually in a single coat.

The first photo shows Provincial on a fiberglass door skin. The second shows it on poplar, the wood used on our interior doors and jambs. Color varies with the surface and how long the stain sits before wiping, so test on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Made for fiberglass, wood, primed metal and composite surfaces
  • Thick gel formula for easy control on doors, jambs and trim
  • Dries in about 6 to 8 hours at 70 to 75°F and 35 to 50% humidity
  • One quart covers roughly 200 to 400 sq ft on smooth surfaces like fiberglass
  • Exterior doors need a clear topcoat for UV and weather protection. Use our Exterior Clear Coat once the stain has dried at least 48 hours
  • Clean up with mineral spirits or paint thinner
