Description

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Clear glass with classic standard profile frames.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Measurements:

Style: Tall Full Lite (rectangular)

Standard Size:

  • Frame outside dimensions: 24" x 82" (replaces frames 23 1/2" to 24" wide and 81 1/2" to 82" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 23" x 81"
  • Glass dimensions: Select 1/2" or 1" thick, 22" wide, 80" tall

Narrow Size:

  • This size is typically found on narrow (30" and narrower) doors
  • Frame outside dimensions: 22" x 82" (replaces frames 21 1/2" to 22" wide and 81 1/2" to 82" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 21" x 81"
  • Glass dimensions: Select 1/2" or 1" thick, 20" wide, 80" tall
Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation
Insulated Safety Glass (Low-E Optional)

Double pane insulated glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

Also available in Low-E tempered glass, which we recommend for applications where energy efficiency is needed, for example in areas with cold winters/hot summers (especially if the door receives direct sunlight).
High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Kit includes standard white high performance plastic frames that resist cracking, warping, and discoloring due to heat and sunlight. These are "High Heat" frames rated up to 200°F and are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Standard white frames are ready to install and do not need to be painted, but can be painted or stained after lightly sanding and priming. More on finishing door glass frames
Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

Delivery took about two weeks but came well packaged and strapped to a pallet. Removal and installation was easy, hardest part was removing my 8' door and cleaning it prior to installing the new insert. The low-e glass matches the new windows on both sides. Easier that I thought it would be to replace, the install video made it a straightforward process.

Getting the frame secure with the window in place was tricky, but well worth it in the end. What a huge difference?!?! We got a quote of $1500 for a contractor to put one in. I did this myself for $600. The dark hallway is now nice and bright.

The previous homeowner had a large dog that scratched the glass, door and door frame pretty badly. The new full lite glass from Pease Doors was the perfect solution. I replaced the glass while I had the door off for repair/repaint. It was easy to install, and looks 100% better.

Unit was sealed in a padded box, arrive by Fed-Ex mostly unscathed. The full lite and frame kit was easy to install after cutting the correct sized hole in the door. Changing out the windows went fairly quick. The difference was immediately noticeable with much less transfer of sound from outside to inside. Only improvement I would suggest is adhering the glass to the outside frame as it was difficult aligning the glass squarely between the frames. The frames are also more flimsy than the ones removed with single pane glass.
