Description

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Classic 3 lite style with external grids.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Measurements:

Style: Half Sidelite (rectangular)

  • Frame outside dimensions: 10" x 38" (replaces frames 9 1/2" to 10" wide and 37 1/2" to 38" tall)
  • Door cutout dimensions: 9" x 37"
  • Glass dimensions: 1/2" thick, 8" wide, 36" tall
Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation
Insulated Safety Glass (Low-E Optional)

Double pane insulated glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

Also available in Low-E tempered glass, which we recommend for applications where energy efficiency is needed, for example in areas with cold winters/hot summers (especially if the door receives direct sunlight).
High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Kit includes standard white high performance plastic frames that resist cracking, warping, and discoloring due to heat and sunlight. These are "High Heat" frames rated up to 200°F and are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Standard white frames are ready to install and do not need to be painted, but can be painted or stained after lightly sanding and priming. More on finishing door glass frames
Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

Had to replace a sidelight with a cracked wooden frame. The other sidelight had a smaller crack too. Ordered two replacements and installed it with my wife’s help. It took just over an hour to replace both. I spent more time cleaning up the dirt and grime accumulated over the years. Installation was very easy.

I didn't have a big project as it goes. But being it was the side lite at the front door it was important. Product is excellent, shipping was unbelievable and the price turned out to be cheaper then all the big houses in my area. Last but not least was the rep from Pease. Alex was great. We exchanged at least 6 emails all from my asking questions making sure the unit would fit into our existing opening! Kudos all around!!

Great service Saved so much money! Totally easy installation! Highly recommend. One company said they would have to replace the entire door and side panel ! Another company wanted $100 just to do an estimate. So my daughter and I and I am over 70 did it in about 15 minutes!😍

Easiest project I have ever taken on. My old sidelights were worn out and drafty. My replacement sidelights came ready to install. Had both windows removed and replaced in less than 30 minutes. Instantly noticed a difference in keeping the cold out. These windows are of the highest quality and extremely easy to install.

The photo shows the need for replacement of the glass assembly. The gasket that holds the two panels together migrated from the perimeter where it is hidden by the frame into the visible portion of the lower segment of the half sidelite. The outer frame was well secured by initial installation with caulking, paint, plus 26 years of weather and occasional repainting. For this reason, and because the sidelite on the other side of the door remained intact, I did not want to replace the outer frame. The new frame is slightly different, with different contour on the molding. Also, the new screws have slightly larger heads, and cannot be recessed into the holes of the old frame. When installation was completed, I recognized one more difference. The new glass panel is ¼” thinner than the old, so I removed the glass and added a weather strip (flat side white tube) around the inside perimeter. Second assembly looks perfect. I noticed one error in your instruction sheet: “Do not exceed 15 pounds of torque.” The error is that “pounds” measures thrust. How hard are you pushing the screwdriver forward? That is thrust. Torque is measured in foot pounds or inch pounds. Torque measures how hard you are turning the screwdriver. And obviously 15 foot pounds would be 12 time more torque than 15 inch pounds. I suspect the instruction should be 15 inch pounds. Most folks who have a torque wrench work in foot pounds. 15 foot pounds likely would strip the plastic screw holes. But I tightened carefully by feel rather than with a torque measuring device.

The sizing was perfect and it arrived very well packaged and protected. I needed a way to see into a narrow hallway coming into the house through the garage. I kept hitting whoever was in the hallway when I open the door. It wasn’t safe. I had a six panel steel door at that entrance, so I decided to cut out the two vertical panels closest to the doorknob. Hardest part was cutting out the opening and repainting the door. Once cut, the glass window fit into the opening and locked together like a glove, and after a few easy turns the screws snugged in the window and all that was left was to rehang the door. A piece of cake.
