Description

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Classic 4 lite style with external grids.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Measurements

Style: 3/4 Lite (rectangular)

  • Frame outside dimensions: 24" x 50" (replaces frames 23 1/2" to 24" wide and 49 1/2" to 50" tall) PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR FRAMES ARE NO MORE THAN 50 1/8" TALL (best to measure frame on inside of home if exterior frame is cracked/warped).
  • Door cutout dimensions: 23" x 49"
  • Glass dimensions: 1/2" thick, 22" wide, 48" tall
Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation
Insulated Safety Glass (Low-E Optional)

Glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

We recommend Low-E for applications where energy efficiency is needed, for example in areas with cold winters/hot summers (especially if the door receives direct sunlight).
High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Kit includes standard white high performance plastic frames that resist cracking, warping, and discoloring due to heat and sunlight. These are "High Heat" frames rated up to 200°F and are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Standard white frames are ready to install and do not need to be painted, but can be painted or stained after lightly sanding and priming. More on finishing door glass frames
Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

The door glass was busted out by the previous owner. It was a hot mess of plexiglass and silicone sealant! The replacement glass and frame fit perfect! The best part is it was fraction of the price of buying a new door. Now the door is sound and weather resistant. I couldn't be more pleased!

Make better products. The plastic that is used in the frames for your windows is apparently sub-par for what is is used for. When I opened the box (no apparent damage to box from drops or mishaps) and started to unscrew the 4 screws holding it together, I found 4 places where the screws hold the two frames together already broken. One of the broken places did not even have a screw in it yet.

It was scary to cut your front door but I took a leap and did it and it was very easy.. it took about an hour to cut and install the window insert. Very dramatic change that has my neighbors asking question. Thank you again for a good product overall.

We recently updated the door to our new build and added a 4lite glass window insert. The results were amazing and probably one of my favorite diy home projects. Initially, I received a damaged package and opened it to find a severely broken frame but Pease doors did a great job to get me a replacement frame as quickly as possible. Over all great customer service and I was appreciative of the resources they provide to help you prepare and with the installation. (One star removed due to receiving my initial order damaged beyond use.) I'm pretty happy with my door!

We have been planning on doing this since we purchased the home two years ago. It was a very easy DIY project and updated our entry significantly at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a new door. We had a solid mahogany existing wood door that was 34 years of wear. It is amazing, every time I walk by,it makes me smile. Highly recommend!!!

This is my second Pease project and, although the actual door took more work (had to do some bondo work to fill in the body lines the new frame didn't quite cover), the actual install was quite simple! Really, it was- remove the door and put on saw horses then measure and cut out your new opening. I sanded, bondoed and repainted my door, did a test fit on both sides with the interior glass frame then remounted the door (as it is lighter without the glass) then installed the new insert. Quite simple and I am LOVING all of that glorious light! Now I just need to repaint my whole house to look as nice as the door does!! 😆

I've been wanting to do something about our door since we bought our house 5 years ago because the wooden frame on the door glass was cracked and warped. I didn't know it was even an option to replace the frame or door glass, but I somehow stumbled upon the Pease website. I wanted to go with rectangular glass instead of oval, but I was nervous to cut into our door. Once we got started on the project, it probably took 2 hours with the cuts and everything. Putting the glass insert in was super simple. My husband and I both love the finished product!

The only thing we were disappointed with was the backside of the attached frame can’t be painted black to match everything else. It’s white. You have to look to see it. Otherwise, we love the end result! Such an inexpensive facelift !

I bought the same insert 3 years ago to replace the ugly glass in the door when we bought our house. This purchase was because our Gardner kicked up a rock and broke the glass :( The quality of the frame has really gone down hill, much flimsier and smaller than the one from 3 years ago, and a LOT more expensive.

This glass was so easy to insert! I did it myself, but I would recommend having someone else help just because the glass is heavy. I was going to just replace the whole door and sidelites but that would have been 3-4x the price and the only problem with our door was it needed a little update. So far so good and I will definitely shop here again!
