Description

Door Glass and Frame Kit

New door glass can transform your entryway without the need to replace your entire door system. Clear glass style with standard profile frames.

Kit includes door glass, inside and outside door glass frame set, screws, and screw caps.

Measurements:

Style: Oval - MEASURE GLASS WIDTH AND HEIGHT DIRECTLY TO ENSURE FIT

Small size:

  • Frame outside dimensions: roughly 16" x 39"
  • Glass dimensions: 1" thick, 13 7/8" wide, 36 7/8" tall (existing glass must be within 1/8" of width and height)

Medium size:

  • Frame outside dimensions: roughly 18" x 42"
  • Glass dimensions: 1" thick, 15.5" wide, 39.4" tall (existing glass must be within 1/8" of width and height)

Large size:

  • Frame outside dimensions: roughly 24" x 60"
  • Glass dimensions: .875" thick, 20.5" wide, 56.4" tall (existing glass must be within 1/8" of width and height)
Easy Installation

Our kit makes installation easy and quick. The outside frame comes pre-caulked to the glass. All you need to install the glass kit into your door is a screwdriver to secure the inside frame to the outer frame. Cover the screw heads with the included plastic caps, paint or stain if desired, and your project is finished! More on installation
Insulated Safety Glass

Clear glass ovals come with double pane insulated glass that has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.

Decorative glass ovals come with triple pane glass (2 clear panes around a decorative middle pane) that provides excellent insulation for energy efficiency. Glass has been tempered for safety and thermally sealed to be air and water tight.
High Performance Frame (Paint/Stain)

Material & Painting/Staining (detailed painting instructions included in box):

Small and Medium size oval frames are made of a high quality polycarbonate and ABS plastic blend (PC/ABS). These are "High Heat" frames that are ideal if your door faces the sun or is behind a storm door that traps heat. Frames can be painted or stained without a primer. They can also be left white unfinished and are "maintenance free" meaning they won't crack or discolor even without paint or stain.

Large oval frames are made of a high grade polypropylene and are also maintenance free, so they do not require paint. They are a big upgrade from the traditional polystyene frames and can handle all but the most extreme of heat conditions. If you do choose to paint or stain these frames, you will need a special adhesion promoting primer, which can be found in our paint section, alongside a curated selection of great paint colors that are specially formulated for doors & door glass frames.

Cleaning

Avoid contact with abrasive cleaners and solutions containing corrosive solvents or acid solutions. Glass can be cleaned using a soft cloth, and glass cleaner.

This door was first installed 30 years ago and, though solid, was looking dated. Rather than replace the whole door, we replaced the glass and hardware to give it a more classic look. A fresh coat of paint in a new color and a little trim, and it's a whole new door.

My strongest advise is to measure at least 3 times before you order your replacement kit. Customer service for Pease Doors is 10 out of 10! The lady office staff was exceptional. We completed our project and I thank God that this company exists. Saving our existing door was the mission 🆚 the cost of a completely new door & frame. I’ve had an exceptional experience with Pease Doors. Although I ordered the wrong size at first, because of their immediate follow up email with detailed instructions, I was able to avoid a silly mistake and still got my order in record time (only 2 days). I loved the glass, amazing quality. Unfortunately, the person I hired to install, dropped it and shattered into pieces during installation (he thought it was attached to the frame)… I’m still in disbelief.

From looking at the picture online, I was under the impression that the glass came in a 24 x 60 rectangular frame so I was disappointed when it came. I had to buy a whole new door and spend much more money to complete the project. I think that you should change the picture so that customers know exactly what they are buying. I feel that the picture was deceptive.
