White aluminum astragal. This is a floating or moveable astragal with bolts that slide into the head jamb and threshold, so the doorway can be fully opened up (without the astragal post blocking the center of the doorway) when desired.

- Includes bronze weatherstrip and a bronze corner seal
- Available with Polished Brass (pictured), Oil Rubbed Bronze, or Satin Nickel hardware
Dimensions & Specifications:
- Select 77", 79", or 80" length for 6/8 doors and 95" or 96" for 8/0 doors (should match length of door slab, not including sweep, within ~1/16")
- Astragal is .75" wide between doors (can fit gap between doors from .75" to 1.125") and 1.75" wide at widest point on door exterior (overlapping onto door face .5" onto face of each door)
- Inswing astragal (for doors that swing into the home)
- For outswing applications, you will need our Astragal Security Cover for Outswing Doors.
- SELECT HANDING: From the inside of the house, if the astragal is attached to the door on the RIGHT, then you need a RIGHT HAND astragal. If the astragal is attached to the door on the LEFT, then you need a LEFT HAND astragal (see illustrations below)
Installation
1. Align astragal on the edge of the less active door
2. Drill through mounting holes in astragal into fixed door using 1/8" drill bit
3. Secure the astragal to the door edge using the (6) #10X3.4" pan head screws
4. Install short piece of vinyl snap-in cover between nylon strike plate base & bottom bolt, cut to fit with pin holder in retracted position
5. Install strike plate with (2) #8X1/2" screws to nylon base
6a. If dead bolt is not used, locate nylon dead bolt base with cover right above strike plate. Install long piece of vinyl snap-in cover between dead bolt base & top bolt.
6b. If dead bolt is used, locate nylon dead bolt base for desired centerline location. Cut the long piece of vinyl snap-in cover to fit between dead bolt base & top bolt. Cut off will be used between strike plate base & dead bolt base.
7. Install dead bolt plate to nylon base with (2) #8X1" screws

Was easy to put in only thing that would improve it is to widen the outside width of the to cover more in the strip that looks like molding maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inches
Amazing product, I bought my home with the highlighted bottom part broken, as you can see it was a perfect fit and very easy install. I feel 100% more secure since the price that was replaced was vinyl. Had to slightly drill out the top and bottom holes less than an 1/8th of inch to the left, but super smooth after that. Just wow! I’m so ready for the weather to stay outside!
Very easy to install I just had a cut down the inside portion for the height of my seal plate. Very easy did it with a hacksaw

Purchased a house and found damaged lower locking pin. Doors were also installed with an outswing and both strike bases were exposed. Trying to find parts to fix this door became a headache. After several searches I came across this site and found the alternate solution to fix my doors. Instead of trying to find a replacement lockpin (which I could not find) I purchased a new astragal and the security cover to take care of the exposed strike plates. Installation was straight forward and I could not be happier with the results.
We bought a house where the previous owner’s dogs destroyed lots of things, astragal’s included! These astragal replacements were a perfect fit for the existing wood pieces. I’m a pretty handy DIYer and the installation took maybe 15 minutes for the first astragal and less than 10 minutes for the second one. They work great and even if we get dogs someday, they seem more resistant to the chewing situation we encountered previously. It took less than a week for them to arrive in the Pacific Northwest and they were packaged really well. If we ever need door-related materials, we will definitely be looking at Pease Doors!
My nephew removed the old part and replaced it with the new one. Please doors offers a 79” astragal that places like Home Depot do not. This replacement saved me the cost of replacing both French Doors !

The installation went well. I fit on the door was tight and took a little tap from mallet to sit square. I choose to use longer screws for both the door handle and the dead bolt clasp. Fit and finish are great, and heat and humidity will stay outdoors :). Ordered 2 more for the other set of doors we have.

Pretty easy install
The astragel application was simple. The doors fit well together. This was a replacement so the holes in the frame were already there. The bottom of the frame needs some way to finish so I'll be calling for advice
We had our astragal get damaged and we went to the home hardware stores locally with no luck finding replacements. When we took our search online Pease Doors seemed to be the only place to buy. The order came in pretty quick except for our UPS driver reported damages to the boxing so they didn't deliver the package. When I got in contact with them at Pease Doors, they got back to me pretty quick and sent a replacement in which it arrived in a timely manner. Set up seemed pretty straight forward for my husband. I was having problems at first because my old astragal just screwed on this one kinda snapped on my door plus the screws made it stronger with better support It’s very sturdy and I love it I would recommend this product to anybody trying to upgrade their doors great price great product you won’t be let down with this one at all

This was the easiest part of my door repair! I have old French doors that are an unusual width. The doors themselves were in good shape, but the frame, threshold, and astragal all needed replaced. I was so happy to find this astragal! The directions were confusing for someone like myself that is a newbie to this type of stuff, but I figured it out without the directions.

Good product, except screws and hardware came out of broken plastic bag during shipping. Could not find all screws so had to use a few of my own. Fairly easy to install and looks good!

Our Pease front door had little to no attention for 30 years. We bought the house 2 years ago and have been remodeling and saving some of the old. We had thought about replacing the front door along with new hardware, since the center piece was cracked and broken. Happy to find that we could still purchase weatherstripping and replacement parts. I’m sorry I didn’t replace the hardware, but after my husband cleaned and polished the old, it was simply too beautiful to replace! So, the Pease door is staying and it is like new. Had to replace a wooden astragal on a double front door that had cracked at the bottom. The new astragal was very straightforward, and fit well. One door had sagged over time, but we shimmed a hinge and the doors close perfectly now and better than before. Doors feel much more secure with the aluminum astragal.
